How should I prepare for my tasting session?
Your individual design session will last approximately one hour and will cover both the design of your cake and the tasting of several yummy flavors. To prepare, please send us three cake flavor choices no later than one week before your tasting. Additionally, please gather as much information as you can that will help us design your cake: color swatches, inspiration pictures, photos of your dress, details of your flowers, etc. The more information we have, the better we’ll be able to use our time to create the cake of your dreams. If you should need to reschedule or cancel, we ask that you contact us no later than 48 hours in advance.
Is it possible to use a display cake with "fake" tiers and sheet cakes to reduce my costs?
The short answer is… it depends. A significant portion of the cost of a custom cake comes from the time, skill, and effort involved in the decoration of the cake. Although there are certainly hard costs associated with ingredients, the complexity of the design will dictate much of your cost. So, for relatively simple designs, a display cake plus sheet cake will likely not help you save significant funds. However, for very large or very complex designs, sheet cakes are certainly an option, and we’d be happy to discuss them with you.
How many servings of cake should I plan for?
There are many factors that can affect how many servings you should provide, such as whether you are serving a full meal or are having an additional dessert buffet. A good rule of thumb is to plan on having about 25% more servings than guests. (For example, with 100 guests, you would have 125 servings of the bride’s and/or groom’s cake.) That said, it really comes down to your preference, and we’ll work with you on selecting the perfect amount.
Do you have cake & cupcake display options?
Yes, we do offer several cake display stands for rent, as well as multiple cupcake display options. Please inquire for details.
